Ann Simona Behning formerly of Antioch, Illinois passed away peacefully at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City Iowa on August 21st, 2024 with family at her bedside.
Ann entered this world October 23rd,1943 in Chicago, Illinois born to Anastacio and Guadalupe Moreno. She was one of 6 children. She met and married the love of her life, George H Behning Sr. on December 27th, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa. To this union, 5 children were born, Ronald, Christine, Robert, Carol, and George Jr. They raised their family throughout the northern Illinois suburbs until George passed away in September of 1990.
Ann was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was to watch her family grow and spend time with each and every one of them.
Left to honor her memory are her children, Christine Slotowski of Fox lake Illinois, Carol Behning of Vermillion, South Dakota, and George Behning Jr. Custer, South Dakota. Grandchildren, Rob Walker of Illinois, Devin Parker and family of Fox lake, Illinois, Robin Longtin and family of Fox Lake, Illinois, Jordan Cullum and family of Custer, South Dakota, Saydi Behning and family of Custer, South Dakota, Nicole Behning of Vermillion, South Dakota; three sisters, Lidia Garza and family of Carpentersville, Illinois, Lupe Jimenez and family of San Antonio, Texas, and Eva Rodriguez and family of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Joe Moreno and family of Southern, Illinois. 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr. her mother and father, Guadalupe and Anastacio Sr.; her sons, Ronald and Robert Behning; and her older brother, Anastacio Moreno Jr.; one niece and two nephews.
Per Ann's wishes she will be cremated and returned to Illinois to be entered into rest with her husband and son, Ronald.
Services will be scheduled at a later date. Her family wishes to extend their appreciation to those involved in her care during her time at Westwood and the staff at care initiatives hospice of Sioux City for their kindness and care in her final days.
Ann will be missed by all and forever remembered for the love she shared throughout her 80 years on earth.
