Ann Eddins Bright, age 91, of Amarillo, passed into the presence of Christ on October 4, 2024. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, October 9th in the Original First Baptist Church (white church building on the northeast corner) 1208 S. Tyler St. with John Smithee, mother’s first cousin, officiating. Burial will take place, prior to the memorial service, at 10:00 AM in Llano Cemetery 2900 S. Hayes (enter off 34th St. on south side). Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Annis Carol was born October 12, 1932 to DeWitt and Alice Smithee Eddins in Estelline, Texas. She graduated from Estelline High School.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Adult 7 Sunday School Class, and the Gideons Auxiliary. In the Auxiliary, she enjoyed going on Bible distributions and handing out the Word of God and praying for the Gideons organization.

Ann loved every minute with her husband to whom she was married over 50 years, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Among the many joys she had in life, nothing brought her more pleasure than her family and friends. She and Ken were avid bridge players and in their younger years loved to go snow skiing. They made several trips abroad and traveling was a passion. She will be remembered for the love she had for God and those around her.

A Bible verse she loved was II Corinthians 5:8, “Death is not the end of life’s journey for those whose faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting and believing in God’s living Word assure us that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken Bright, and four sisters: Eloise Simpson, DeAylss Wood, Bette Vogler and Mary Sue Holland.

Survivors include daughter Jenne Labus (Vernon), son Gene Bruce (Cheryl), four grandchildren, Matthew Stampfli (Heather), Leslie Bruce (Shirece), Lindsey Whitaker (Dusty) and Sara Labus. Seven great grandsons, Cutter, Sterling, Quay, Kross, Kolt, Kage and Kitt. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family suggest memorials be to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 2304, Amarillo, Texas 79105; First Baptist Church, 1208 Tyler St., Amarillo, Texas 79101 or to your favorite charity
