MURFREESBORO, NC - Ann Baird Caulkins, 95, died on Monday, October 13, 2025 at her home in Murfreesboro, NC. She was born on December 31, 1929 in McKinney, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 76 years, Thomas Herbert Caulkins, her parents Harry Davis Baird, Sr. and Margaret Tucker Baird, her brother, Harry Davis Baird, Jr. and her sister Bonnie Baird Hurley. She is survived by her two daughters: Charlene Eason and her husband Jimmy and Bonnie Revelle and her husband Chuck, all of Murfreesboro; her four grandchildren: Thomas Revelle and his wife Rachael of Chapel Hill, NC, Whitney Eibl and her husband Patrick of Durham, NC, Rachel Revelle Chang and her husband Shu of Colorado Springs, CO, and Emily Revelle and her fiancé Socrates Zouboulakis of Boston, MA; and her seven great-grandchildren: Joseph Eibl, Judah Revelle, Madeline Eibl, Theodore (Teddy) Chang, Benjamin (Benji) Chang, James Revelle, and Arthur Chang.
Ann started college at Westhampton College, the women's division of the University of Richmond. Rather than graduate, she married Tom and supported him through his post-graduate training, including seminary. She never lost her passion for learning and 19 years later she graduated from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) with a BS in Education.
Ann served faithfully alongside Tom as a minister's wife. She became wholly invested in serving their congregations with love, hospitality, and graciousness. She also worked as a social worker at Roanoke Chowan Human Services Center for over twenty years, bringing that same love and compassion to the clients she helped.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Murfreesboro Baptist Church with the Reverend Mark Gaskins presiding. A reception and visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Ann are asked to consider a donation directly to Murfreesboro Baptist Church, 200 West Main Street, Murfreesboro, NC 27855 or online by clicking here; or directly to the Ann Baird and Thomas H.
