Ann Chaney

Gertrude Ann Chaney, "Ann", age 92, died on February 6, 2026, at the Heartlands Assisted Living in Severna Park. Ann was born on September 27, 1933, in Annapolis, Maryland, to George A. and Esther G. Griffith Wassell. A longtime resident of Millersville and Odenton. She later retired from Grants Department Store. Active in the community, she was a member of the American Legion Post 276 (ALA). Ann was an avid duck pin bowler at both Odenton and Severna Park Lanes. She is survived by her loving children; Walter L. Chaney (Joan), Jackie L. Coale (late Steve), Wanda L. Boschert-Ellis (Terry). She is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her brother Carvel Wassell. In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband, Lester L. Chaney (Popeye) and her siblings Henry Wassell, George Wassell, Walter Wassell, and Rae Wassell Brown. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Ann's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Chesapeake. Thank you!
