Ann Faith Cool

Surrounded by family and at the age of 80, Ann Faith Cool, went home to the loving embrace of our Lord, on December 21, 2015. She passed away after a long and courageous battle with ALS at home in Bear, DE. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a "Special Friend." Ann was born in Hot Springs, Virginia in 1935, to the late Ernest and Alice Hicks, and, late step father, Locke McComb. Ann leaves us to join her husband of 40 years, the late Russell M. Cool and her deceased step son, Andy Cool. Also, her beloved pet "Jake." Ann worked for 27 years at The Zutz/Willis Insurance Co., formely as a singer/songwriter, seamstress for DuPont, music instructor, piano teacher and CPA. She enjoyed Reading the Scripture, singing, gardening and playing the organ. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her brother, Ray Hicks and his wife, Corrine; son, Gregory Douglas Thacker and his wife, Rosane; daughter and caregiver, Deborah Reeves and her husband, Wiley Reeves, Jr.; and step daughter, Patty Cool; numerous nephews and nieces; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her good friend and caregiver, Scott Selby. Special thanks to Delaware Hospice and their volunteers, especially Latrina, Sam, Carolyn, Jennifer, Barbara and Scott. Your help, caring and support were greatly appreciated, without you none of this would be possible. Family and friends are invited to visit with Ann's family on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10am to 11am at Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church, 1100 W. Church Road, Newark, DE 19711, where Funeral Services will begin at 11am, with reception immediately following. Burial will be Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701.
