Ann Deitcher, 90, Topeka Kansas, beloved Mom, Mother-in-law and Nana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Ann was born May 29, 1935, at home in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of James Joseph and Hanora "Nona" Murphy McQuade. In her early years the family also lived in Osawatomie and Hoisington, Kansas. She graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1953. Ann and Glen H. Deitcher were united in marriage on June 4, 1955, at St. Philip Catholic Church in Osawatomie, enjoying more than 58 years together prior to his death in 2014. Ann had a varied work history beginning in her youth as a soda jerk in Meek's Drugstore and the movie theater in Osawatomie before moving to Topeka in 1955. She served as a secretary for National Reserve Life for several years before choosing to stay at home with their children as the family grew. On re-entering the work force she worked part-time for Judge Sam Crow at the Federal Courthouse and was a secretary at Fleming Foods. Other than her job of "Mom" Ann was most proud of the years she served as Committee Secretary in the Kansas Legislature. Ann was a longtime member of Most Pure Heart Catholic Church, had a charming and warm personality, a beautiful smile and positive and joyful energy. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
