Florence T (Rubinstein) Deitcher, 87 of Myerstown PA, passed away on Tuesday September 17, 2024. She was the wife of the late Marvin Rubinstein and the late Samuel Deitcher.
Florence was born August 5th, 1937 in Baltimore MD to the late William Howard and Reba (Margolis) Furr. The Furrs moved to Philadelphia when Florence was in 3rd grade. She lived on Oxford Circle with her mother, father, and sister Elaine. Florence graduated from Olney High School in 1955. She attended Temple University studying elementary education and Gratz Hebrew College.
In her youth, Florence enjoyed and was proud of her participation in dramatics on a TV show called Horn and Hardart's Children's Hour. Florence also modeled for Lit Brothers Department Store wearing outfits designed by Simplicity Fashions.
Florence enjoyed many trips to Wildwood NJ where the Margolis Family had a summer home. She enjoyed the boardwalk and Family Reunions in Wildwood.
In 1958, she married Marvin Rubinstein who she met at Temple. Marvin was an accountant for 40 years until he passed away in 1999. They lived together in Havertown, PA with their two children; a son, Ronald and a daughter Amy. Florence taught preschool, Hebrew School, and worked for the Suburban Times for many years selling newspaper ads. Florence was involved in the antique car hobby and was an antique car judge for many years.
Florence attended the weddings of her children, Ron and Amy and was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Suzanna, Nathan, Brenna, and Michael.
Florence met Sam Deitcher several years after Marvin's death. They were married a year later. Florence and Sam lived in Wynnewood PA and then moved to Lebanon, PA until his passing in 2012.
In the last 3 years of her life, Florence moved to Nashville, TN to be closer to her daughter Amy and then back to Lebanon where she passed away on Tuesday September 17th, 2024.
Florence enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine, following politics and world events on the television, corresponding with relatives, and spending time with Family and Friends.
She will be sadly missed by her children Ronald S. Rubinstein (Lois E.) of Lebanon, Amy Anderton (Craig) of Nashville TN. and her grandchildren Nathan (Lucy), Brenna, Michael, and Suzanna Parikh (Sam Block).
