Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Annville on Jan. 16, 2026.
The family of Martha Joanne Flanick (nee Buckoski), born March 4, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA announces her passing on January 11, 2026, at the age of 99 in Palmyra, PA.

Martha will be remembered by her children Mark Flanick (Deanna) of Asbury Park, NJ, James Flanick (Barbara) of Boca Raton, FL, Jill Kessler (Bruce) of Bluffton, SC, and Lee Flanick (Denise) of Fredericksburg, PA, and by her grandchildren Niall Flanick (Britney) of Greer, SC, Alannah Mascarella of Pittsboro, NC, Alexandra Flanick of San Diego, CA, Erika Dandridge (Josh) of Folsom, PA, and by her great grandchildren Juliette Mascarella and Aoife Flanick.

Martha was predeceased by her husband, Eugene C. Flanick of Pittsburgh, PA and her only sibling, Janet R. Buckoski of Pittsburgh, PA. Martha met her husband, Eugene, on a blind date and prior to Eugene's passing had been married for 65 years.

Martha studied nursing through the Army Nurse Cadet's Program and ultimately became the Head Nurse in the Medical and Women's Surgical Unit at Shadyside Hospital in Shadyside, PA.

Martha was volunteer minded, often reading to school children and reading to the sight impaired. It is in this spirit that Martha has generously donated her body to the Humanities Gift Registry for study.

Upon the return of Martha's ashes from the gift registry, and on a future date, a funeral mass will be held in Palmyra PA. Inurnment will follow at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.

Martha was a devout Catholic, reading the Bible daily. Those who desire may make a memorial donation to the Harrisburg Diocese: hbgdiocese.org.
