Frederick Lutz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kreamer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. - Annville on Jan. 22, 2026.
Frederick C. "Fred" Lutz, 69, of Hershey and formerly of Fredericksburg, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Lebanon on September 4, 1956, he was the only son of the late Carl F. Lutz and the devoted son of the late Frances M. (Swope) Lutz. Fred cared for his mother until her death in 2025. He was a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School Class of 1974, where he played soccer and baseball. Fred was an excellent athlete, and he was a member of the 1971 Fredericksburg Jr. Legion Baseball Championship Team.

Fred retired from The Hershey Company, Reese Plant. While working at Reese, Fred had a small lawn care business on the side. He also owned and managed several rental properties in Hershey.

Fred was a student of the Civil War. He was a rock and roll fan, particularly of Bruce Springsteen and the Beatles, and he most recently attended a Paul McCartney concert in Pittsburgh. He followed politics and current events, the stock market, and his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He is survived by aunts Nancy (John) Rhen and Barbara (Tom) Trainor; uncle Barry (Cheryl) Lutz; step-sister Melissa Daub; step-brother Scott Lutz; and numerous cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by aunts Arlene (Ray) Deck, Anna Swope, Florence Gerhart, Rosemary Thierwechter, Irene Sweigart, Connie Martin, and uncles Eugene Swope, William Lutz, Robert Lutz, and Franklin Lutz.

Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
