Ann Drose Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Richardson Funeral Home - Marion on Jul. 30, 2025.
MARION ANN ROBERTS DROSE Ann Roberts Drose passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025 after an extended illness. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Rose Hill Cemetery directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour before the service at 10:00 AM in the cemetery. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page for those unable to attend. Ann, born on January 17, 1943, was the oldest daughter of the late John Carlisle and Mary Kathleen Robertson Roberts of Marion. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Drose, and brother-in-law, Ken Truluck of Irmo, SC. Mrs. Drose was retired from Marion County Schools where she worked at several locations during her 40+ years as a secretary/computer scheduler. She attended Marion Baptist Church and Garden City Chapel in the summer months as she and Billy spent many years living in Garden City Beach. Her second passion was attending sporting events and games ranging from 28 years with football season tickets to attend USC Gamecock games. Ann loved watching her sons, and granddaughters play football, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and participation in cheerleading and dance. Ann was their biggest fan and truly loved having her family around her and being immersed in their activities. Surviving are her children: sons, Wes Drose (Shelley) and their daughter, Brittany Jackson (Jay); Chris Drose (Stacye) and their daughters, Kayla Denny (Taylor), and Lexi Coleman (Luke), Robbie Drose (Kendra); daughter, Angie Grice (Carroll) and their daughters, Anna Marie and Holly Grice. She has a sister, Kay Roberts Truluck of Irmo, SC, and niece, Kim (Mike) and nephew Klay (Jonie). Mrs. Drose has 3 great-grandchildren: Ansleigh Jackson, Maverick and Emme Denny. The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to caregiver, Jeanette Campbell in the home, and to the staff of Florence Presbyterian Home that cared for our mother during her stay there. The love and diligence of duties given by all of the caregivers will never be forgotten. Memorials may be made to Garden City Chapel, 310 Dogwood Dr. North, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
