James Weston "Jimmy" Britt

James Weston "Jimmy" Britt, 84, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 20, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Marion First United Methodist Church, burial will follow at Palmetto Memorial Gardens. The family will receiving friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Richardson Funeral home.

Mr. Britt was born in Marion, SC a son of the late Miriam Game Britt and Frank Levern Britt. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Gale Britt Lassiter (Al) and Betty Britt. Jimmy was a graduate of Marion High School. He worked for Thomas Supply as a purchasing agent for 46 years until retirement. Jimmy was a faithful member of Marion First United Methodist Church, and long-time member of Uncle Charlie's Hut. He enjoyed reading, working in the yard and spending time with his family. He enjoyed all Gamecock athletics.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Moody Britt of the home; son, Wes Britt of Marion; daughters Susan Britt Singletary (Michael) of Marion and Elizabeth Britt of Charleston; brothers Donald Britt (Tricia) of Columbia, Frankie Britt (Sandra) of Florence, and Dale Britt of Mullins; 2 grandsons, Ryan Singletary of Charleston and Drew Singletary of Greenwood; Aunt Martha Britt Dozier of Rains; numerous nieces and nephews; and his fur buddies Rocky and Tex.
