Ann Ellow

Obituary for Ann E. Ellow (1920-2015) Ann E. Ellow, age 95, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Pa., passed away peacefully, at home, on Monday, December 28, 2015. She was the devoted wife of the late Francis M. Ellow, Sr., who passed away in 1982, and the beloved mother of Francis M. Ellow, Jr. (the late Madeline) of California, Robert E. Ellow (Carol) of King of Prussia, and Ronald Ellow (Beverly) of Aston. Mrs. Ellow had 8 grandchildren, Susan Kester, Michael, Robert Jr., Chris, Mark, Doug, Dave, and Josh Ellow , 9 Great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mary Pierson of Bridgeport and the late Elizabeth Bogotuik. Mrs. Ellow was born and raised in Bridgeport. She was the daughter of the late Michael Kuhna and the late Catherine Salaggi Kuhna. She was educated at Our Mother of Sorrows School and then Bridgeport High School. In 1940 she married Francis and then worked at Sacred Heart Hospital as a nurses aide, she went on to work at J.C. Penney for 13 years, handling chargebacks, until her retirement in 1976. Ann was a longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church where she sang in the choir and helped out with the cleaning and care of the church. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 2, 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St., Swedesburg, Pa., 19405 and viewing in church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
