Rasmussen Mortuary - Mount PleasantAnn Summerhays Harrison passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1942, in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California. When she was young, her family moved to Stockton, California, where she grew up. Ann was a devoted disciple of Christ and a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith shaped every aspect of her life.
As a young woman, she served a French-speaking mission in Quebec, Canada. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Brigham Young University.
On June 4, 1966, she married Robert William Bushman in the Oakland, CA Temple. They later divorced. On July 8, 2004, she married Alan Dean Harrison in the Washington, DC Temple.
Ann is survived by six of her seven children: Kessa Diann Bushman (Adam Jeppson), Robin Bushman (David Aaron Hastings), Jesse Smith Bushman (Paralee Leonard), Nathan Summerhays Bushman (Heather Lancaster), Jaron Robert Bushman (Charis Deadwyler) and Anna Louisa Bushman (Peter “Tyger” Belton), and two step-children: Cynthia Lynn Harrison, and Lance Alan Harrison (Kelly Ann Kiser). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She is undoubtedly overjoyed to be reunited with her son Hans Jacob Bushman, who died as a toddler.
Ann served faithfully throughout her life in many capacities. At age 11, she was a Junior Sunday School Pianist. As an adult, she served as Ward Organist, Choir Director, Ward Choir Pianist, Primary Chorister, Ward Roadshow Writer and Director, Primary Teacher, twice as Ward Relief Society President, Relief Society Teacher, and Stake Public Affairs Specialist. Her service reflected her deep love for the Savior and for those around her.
A lifelong learner, Ann loved to read literature, history, biographies, religious works and books to expand her practical knowledge. For years, her local library maintained a shelf dedicated to the many books she reserved. She taught private piano and art lessons, was an excellent seamstress, and found joy in vegetable and flower gardening and home decorating. Her children and grandchildren celebrate her excellent cooking.
She endured a lengthy battle with serious health challenges, while remaining devoted to serving and staying connected to her children and grandchildren, and steadfast in her faith in Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant North Stake Center (461 N 300 W), with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Logan City Cemetery.
