Jo-Ann Louise Yobp Lippincott, daughter of William and Mary Frances Yobp, passed away peacefully at Country Meadows of Hershey on Sept 9, 2025. Born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, she lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and grace.
Jo-Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, professional, and friend. She approached every role with responsibility, warmth, and a steady commitment to what is right, always prioritizing family and community. Her small acts of kindness-checking in, encouraging words, cards, hugs, and a listening ear-touched countless lives. Her smile, sincerity, and enduring
heart created a sense of safety and trust in every room she entered.
She enriched her life through learning and service, earning summa cum laude from Albright College in 1956 and completing her nurses training at Reading Hospital in 1958, laying the foundation for an esteemed career. Her positions included Director of Nursing Education Abington Memorial Hospital, Nurse Supervisor Shore Memorial Hospital, Director of Nursing at Alpine Nursing Home, charge nurse Hershey Medical Center and Director of Nursing Camp Hill State Prison. She volunteered for the Visiting Nurse Association and the Derry Township Democratic Committee serving as Secretary in retirement.
Jo-Ann faced life's challenges with resilience and a steadiness that inspired those around her. She cherished family gatherings, needlepointing,ceramics,holidays, reading, baking, PSU football, the beaches of OCNJ, and playing cards with her grandchildren. She was the best ski lodge mom and rink side mom. She was the best birthday cake mom and shopping mom. She was a homeroom mom and Brownie troop leader mom. She loved being a mom. She also loved to travel. She was fortunate to have visited many parts of the world, always returning in amazement and appreciation for the beauty of the world.
Her friendly style and calm manner will always be remembered by those who loved her. Her daily message:
"good morning glory! I hope you have a spectacular day!, I love you"
-captured her approach to life: gratitude, presence, infectious joy, laughter, persistence, steadiness, and love. Jo-Ann's
presence made everything better.
Jo-Ann was unrivaled in her character traits of kindness, patience, generosity, empathy, and grace. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, enjoying time with them and watching them grow. She showered them with love, kindness, laughter, play, and devotion.
Her final words, "I Love You, I Will Love you, forever" reflected a life spent loving deeply and giving generously. Jo-Ann passed from this earth surrounded by her family's warmth.
May we honor her memory by living like Jo-Ann with open hearts, generous hands, and a commitment to kindness, gratitude, and light-even in darkness. Jo-Anne was a remarkable woman who will forever be missed. Hers was a life well lived.
