Ann Johnson, age 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026, at her home in Ormond Beach, FL.
Born on December 16, 1958, in Wilkes-Barre, PA the daughter of the late Edward Francis Wasilius (d. 1976) and Florence Richards Wasilius (d. 2007)
Ann was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA and was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School Class of 1976. After marrying William "Bill" Johnson, Jr. on September 4, 1976, she moved to Wyalusing, PA, where she dedicated herself to her role as a housewife and homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her family. Throughout her life, Ann balanced her responsibilities as a housewife with her work at various establishments including GTP Sylvania, Pudgies Pizza, and P&G.
A talented painter who inherited her artistic flair from her father, she found joy and fulfillment in creating works of art that brought beauty into the lives of those around her.
Ann and Bill made the decision to move to Ormond Beach, FL, where they became active members of Grace Community Church, enriching their new community with their kindness and dedication. Before this, Ann was a former member of Hope Baptist Church in Herrickville, PA.
Ann is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Bill Johnson, Jr.; her sons, William Johnson III of Hillsboro, TN and James Johnson of Elizabethtown, PA; her grandchildren, Grace and Maggie Johnson; her brother, Edwin Wasilius, of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Wasilius, and sister, Patty Tanner.
The legacy of Ann Johnson will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who remember her for her unwavering love, artistic spirit, and the profound impact she made on their lives.
A Memorial for Ann will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM from the Grace Community Church, 1060 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach FL. The service will be live streamed for those who are not able to attend at https://www.youtube.com/live/CgqUrcd8yQ8?si=d3JTtVOTpIBtzOCc
A Funeral Service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania and interment will take place at the Jersey Hill Cemetery, Meshoppen, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ann’s name to the Hope Baptist Church, 229 Hiduk Rd, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or to Grace Community Church, 1060 W Granada Blvd A, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
