Ann S. Mc Dermott

The beloved matriarch of the Mc Dermott family passed away on December 7 surrounded by her husband and 7 beautiful children, leaving a lasting legacy to all that had the privilege to know her.

She was born in Latham, New York in 1939 to parents Joseph and Marie Schwab. She attended Niagara University, where she studied nursing, then went on to proudly work for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. While attending Niagara University Ann met and later married her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Walter. They were married on April 30, 1966. They settled in Ridgewood, NJ and raised their 7 beautiful children there. Later in life, they made the move to Ramsey, NJ.

Ann was an only child and went on to raise her 7 children, her greatest accomplishment, whom she is survived by. Her eldest is Walter (Jamie) Mc Dermott and wife Meghan Mc Dermott, followed by daughter Kate Oldak and husband Edward Oldak, daughter Jennifer Cunningham and husband James Cunningham, son Timothy Mc Dermott, son Brian Mc Dermott and wife Gina Mc Dermott, daughter Sarah Mancusi and husband Anthony Mancusi, and finally Meg Flood and husband Jonathan Flood.

Her biggest joy was watching her 14 grandchildren grow up, whom she is also survived by. Will and Patrick Mc Dermott, Ellie Oldak, Emma, Sophie and James Cunningham, Sabrina Mc Dermott, Cole, Austin and Dillon Mc Dermott, Brandon and Tyler Mancusi, and Ryan and Jillian Flood.

Between the years at Niagara University, time in Ridgewood and Ramsey, Ann touched many lives, whether they were friends of her own, or friends of her children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by many.
