Growing up on a dairy farm Ann had a love for horses and dogs. Ann's childhood passion was riding horses and showing them in 4H.
Ann went on to live in Wisconsin and Texas for several years before settling back in NE Iowa. After moving back to NE Iowa, she graduated from Luther College in 1998 and became a social worker at Des Moines General Hospital. Passionate about her social work and helping others in need, Ann went on to get her master's from U of I in 2005. She went on touching many lives at the House of Mercy, Iowa Corrections Institution for Women and VA Medical Centers.
Ann enjoyed the time with her grandchildren, doing word search, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and watching Caitlin Clark play basketball.
Ann is preceded in death by her daughter Sarah Brandt, her parents Allan and Marilyn Novak.
Ann is survived by her son Jeremy Brandt of Ankeny, Iowa, son – in – law Jake Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren Lucas Brandt, Gracyn Brandt and Jacob Miller, brothers Steve (Ruth) Novak, Brian Novak, Kirk (Deb) Novak and sister Lisa (Dan) Saddler.
A family memorial service is set for November 9, 2024, in Cresco, Iowa.
