Memorial Service for Ann Owens, age 79, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 West Gladstone Avenue, Frederick, with Mike Haverland, minister of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Owens passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at the McMahon Tomlinson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Edna Fay "Ann" (Bertreaux) Owens was born June 20, 1945, in Tahoka, Texas, to Dora Alice (Allen) Bertreaux; she attended school in Tahoka. Prior to her marriage to James, she worked in the nursing field in California. On August 20, 1972, she and James E. Owens were united in marriage in San Diego, California. Ann enjoyed any type of crafts; she was extremely talented at knitting and crocheting and could make anything from nothing. She was a faithful member of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ in Frederick.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Owens of the home; one step-daughter, Annette Lynn Swafford and her husband Greg of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one step-son, James E. Owens, Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Adam Owens, Jessica Swafford, and Robert Owens; and a adopted granddaughter, Brittany Mendez; five great-grandchildren; seven brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill Owens, Danny Owens and his wife Melissa, Dorothy Brown and her husband Everett, Susan Brown, Mary Beth Kulp, Katie Murphy, and Cindy White and her husband Jimmy; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews,
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Dora and Harley Hall; one grandson, Matthew Swafford, one brother, Don Bertreaux; one sister, Louise Bertreaux; one sister-in-law, Dollie Owens, and three brothers-in-law, Eldon Brown, Morris Kulp, and Jerry Murphy.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Ann Owens.
