Ann Romano Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 15, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Romano, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Ann grew up in Astoria, Queens, and carried the love of family with her throughout her life. Ann was married to her husband, Domenick, for 65 years. Ann passed away on August 13th, leaving behind love, warmth, and devotion to her family.

Ann took great pride in creating a beautiful, welcoming space for her loved ones. Whether it was a dinner around the table or a holiday feast, Ann was an exceptional cook and baker whose meals were a labor of love that always brought people together.

Ann had an impeccable sense of style that was both effortless and elegant. Always well-dressed with great taste, she knew how to make a statement without saying a word. Whether attending a formal event or simply spending time with family, Ann's fashion choices were a true reflection of her grace. She always carried herself with confidence.

Music was another core of Ann's life. She cherished playing the piano of Sinatra and George Gershwin songs. For many years, she was an active member of St. Anne's Church Choir, where her love for music resonated.

Above all, Ann adored the holidays, when she could gather her family together in celebration. Those were the times she looked forward to most-times filled with laughter, love, and the magic of being surrounded by those she held dear. She was also behind the Colarco Family Reunion, a tradition she cherished deeply. Ann's passion for bringing the family together for this annual gathering was a testament to her love and commitment to her roots and loved ones.

Ann's love for her family was boundless, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her husband Domenick, daughters Lauren Schulz and Lisa Malatak, son in-laws Jim Schulz and Robert Malatak and grandchildren Amanda, Alexandra, Jennifer, Thomas, and Ashley. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America.

May she rest in peace.
