Ann J. Sawka, 89, of Robbinsville, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010, in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis, Trenton, NJ. Born and raised in Plymouth, PA, she resided for over 20 years in Hamilton Square, NJ before settling in Robbinsville, NJ for the last 34 years. Ann graduated from Plymouth High School in 1939. She was formerly employed with Kiddie Keep Well Camp, Walker Gordon Dairy Farm, Switlik Parachute Company and Educational Testing Service. She worked for 22 years and retired from Langtree Elementary School in Hamilton Township, NJ as the cafeteria manager. She was a PTA member, a volunteer for Deborah Hospital's Regional Chapter, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary-Post 31, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid golfer with the "Princeton Swingers Golf Club". She adored her family and grandchildren most of all. Predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia Shevock, her brother, Ignatius Shevock, and her sister, Mary Brozena; she is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Walter Sawka of Robbinsville; her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and David Lawson of Hamilton, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law, Wally and Sharon Sawka of Columbus, NJ; her sister, Sophia Lucidi of Dallas, PA; her brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Agnes Shevock of Nanticoke, PA; three grandchildren, Pamela Lawson of Charlotte, NC, Karyn Greco and her husband Louis of Marlton, NJ, and Brittany Lawson of Hamilton, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. The Office of Christian Burial with the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10am Monday at Byzantine Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, 411 Adeline Street, Trenton, NJ. Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ. Relatives and friends may call 4-7pm Sunday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation - National Headquarter Office, 11 Independence Way, Newark, DE 19713 or Deborah Hospital Foundation, PO Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
