Ann Marie Smith, 56, of DeGraff went Home to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:59 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, Ohio. She was born in Canton, Illinois on August 22, 1969, a daughter of the late Charles "Chuck" Joseph Neigel and Wanda Lee Eldridge.
On May 12, 1990, Ann married Gregory A. Smith in New Carlisle, Ohio and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2013. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Trenton Smith; a brother, Rodney Neigel; stepmother, Linda Neigel; in-laws Thomas and Sharon Smith; and the father of her fiancé, Paul Steele.
Ann is survived by her fiancé, Alan Steele and his mother Kathy Sanders; daughters, Abby (Ben) Griffith, and Kayla (Caleb) Mansfield; six grandchildren, Charlee Mansfield, Amara Mansfield, Gavin Mansfield, Caiden Mansfield, Maverick Griffith, and Harper Billiot; brother, Jeff Neigel; stepsister, Rhonda Schrodt; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Dawn Evans.
Ann passionately loved all things regarding cows and her large cups of crushed ice. She enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and possessed a contagious laugh, that all who knew her will fondly remember. Ann loved her pets, Waldo and Ember; spending time with her family and friends; and dearly adored her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Gram”.
Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, where Pastors Walt Mansfield and Kenny Garland will co-officiate a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
