Saco
Ann I. (Renner) Yoder, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025, in her home in Saco, Maine.
Ann was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, on December 19, 1938, the daughter of Warren and Elsie (Reller) Renner. She grew up in Souderton, Pennsylvania, alongside her brother Bob. She attended Souderton High School where she sang in the choir and was the girl's hockey team manager. She graduated from high school in 1956 and later graduated from East Stroudsburg State College in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
In the summer of 1957, while working at "The Spot" in Surf City, New Jersey, Ann met and fell in love with Jim Yoder. They married in January of 1960 and moved to Long Island, New York. Ann worked as a schoolteacher until she and Jim had their first two children, Marge and Mike. They later moved to Connecticut where they had their third child, Jeff.
They spent a few years in Pennsylvania before moving to Vermont where they remained until the kids graduated high school. Ann was a loving and involved parent, supporting her kids' studies and extracurricular activities. Later, Ann and Jim moved to Florida where they lived for 22 years until moving to Maine in 2015, to be closer to family.
The main focus of Ann's life was her family. She enjoyed time with Jim and their children, and later with grandchildren as well. She loved family vacations and enjoyed cooking traditional family favorites.
Ann had a variety of interests. She enjoyed natural beauty and getting outdoors. In her younger years she was often found in her flower garden. She spent time sewing and quilting, reading, and doing puzzles. In Florida, she enjoyed being part of a walking club and playing bingo with "the ladies."
Ann was predeceased by her father, Warren Renner, and her mother, Elsie (Reller) Renner.
Ann is survived by her husband James Yoder; her children Marjorie Yoder, Michael Yoder and his wife Cathy Reed, and Jeffrey Yoder and his wife Nanette Nascone-Yoder; her four grandchildren, Sarah Yoder, Henry Yoder, Hannah Yoder, and Ella Yoder; her brother, W. Robert Renner and his wife Ann; and many nieces and nephews.
Information about funeral services will be updated shortly.
