Anna M. Accomando

Anna Accomando, 90, of Guilford, CT, passed away on December 8, 2024 at her home.
The funeral service will be held at St. Raymond's Church in East Rockaway, NY, on December 13, 2024, at 9:45 am with Rev. Charles Romano of St. Raymond's Church officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. Visitation will be held at Perry Funeral Home, 118 Union Ave, Lynbrook, New York on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
Anna was born to Francesco and Maria Guistini in Rome, Italy, on October 15, 1934. After WWII, she completed the equivalent of high school in Rome, Italy, and worked as an executive assistant at a prestigious commercial establishment in Rome. After meeting her husband Italo, the newlyweds immigrated to America in 1962. She taught herself dressmaking and design and worked as a freelance dressmaker in New York. They raised three children together: Angelo, Robert, and Paula. Anna was an unbelievably joyful, loving, and committed mother, a patient and dutiful spouse, and, as anyone who knew her would readily attest, an outstanding cook.
Anna is survived by her sister, Paola Guistini, Rome, Italy; her son Angelo J. Accomando, MD, Guilford, CT (wife Karin); her son Robert Accomando, Esq., Sandy Hook, CT (wife Debora); her daughter Paula Accomando, PT, Durham CT (husband Drew); and her grandchildren Robbie, Anika, Daniel, Julian, Steven and Adrian. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Italo Accomando.
