Elizabeth Accomando Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Nov. 14, 2023.
Elizabeth Ann Accomando, known to her loved ones as Liz, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023, in Palm Harbor, Florida. Born on May 8, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Liz lived a life full of love, service, and devotion to her family.
Liz was a proud graduate of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Brooklyn, New York. Her upbringing in the bustling city ingrained in her an unwavering strength and resilience, characteristics that she carried throughout her life. As a young woman, Liz's hardworking spirit led her to a fulfilling career in the food service industry. She served countless meals and smiles to the patrons of The Miss Monticello Diner and Blue Horizon Diner, where she worked as a waitress until her retirement.
Beyond her professional life, Liz was a cherished life partner, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life partner, George Gavaris, was her rock and constant companion. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect. Their enduring partnership was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Liz was also a dedicated mother to her children Salvatore, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, and Paul. She raised them with a blend of love, discipline, and wisdom, always striving to instill in them the values of hard work, honesty, and kindness. Her children remember her as a nurturing figure who could turn any house into a home with her warm presence and hearty cooking.
Liz was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She cherished every moment she spent with them, from family gatherings to quiet afternoons at home. Her love for her family was boundless, and she considered her time with them as the most precious moments of her life.
Liz's interests and hobbies were simple yet fulfilling. She found joy in the everyday and took pleasure in the small things. However, her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Whether it was a casual dinner, a birthday celebration, or a holiday gathering, Liz was always at the center, her laughter and warmth radiating throughout the room.
Elizabeth Ann Accomando was a woman of strength, courage, and unwavering love. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her loved ones who will forever remember her infectious smile, her hearty laughter, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we remember Liz, let us celebrate her life and the love she shared with us all. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones. Farewell, Liz, until we meet again.

Ma, I am grateful for the 21 years you were part of my life. You were an amazing grandmother to my children. You and Poppy were there for my children when I went threw my lowest time in my life. I could never thank you enough for everything you did. You gave up your life up to take care of my babies . I am forever grateful for you . You'll always hold a special place in my heart. Give my mom and dad a kiss for me as well as grandma Dee. Rest easy, sleep in paradise. And fly high with the angels. Love you. Xoxo
