Brigitte Gabriele Beck

Brigitte Gabriele Beck, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 83.

Brigitte was born on January 22, 1943, in Berlin, Germany. From an early age, she embraced life with curiosity, determination, and a deep love of movement and the outdoors. She studied physical therapy in Göttingen, Germany, and went on to work in her profession in Graz and Vienna, Austria, as well as in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. A highlight of her professional life was traveling with the German Paralympic team to Tokyo, Japan, in 1964 as part of the training staff-an experience she remained proud of throughout her life. In her younger years, Brigitte also loved rock climbing and skiing in the Alps.

In 1970, Brigitte married Manfred Beck. Together they built a life defined by adventure, community, and family. Their daughter, Sabine, was born in February 1974. In 1976, the family moved to Trois-Rivières, Quebec, due to Manfred's work, and in November 1977, their son, Andreas, was born. Two years later, the family relocated once more, settling in Niagara Falls, New York, which would become home for many years.

During her time in Niagara Falls, Brigitte truly lived by the belief that it takes a village to raise a child. Her home was always open, and neighborhood children were always welcome-especially to swim in the pool.

Brigitte had a deep love of travel and explored much of the world, including Japan, South Korea, Egypt, Cuba, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Austria, England, and Ireland. She was also an avid golfer and tennis player. In Lewiston, she was well known for organizing the nine-hole scoring table at the Porter Cup and enthusiastically participated in every tennis tournament at the Niagara Falls Country Club. She gave back generously to her community as a volunteer at Artpark and as a member of the Women's Auxiliary at Niagara Memorial Medical Center.

In 2017, Brigitte and Manfred permanently moved to Palm Harbor, Florida. There, she continued her active lifestyle, playing golf as a dedicated member of the 9-Holers at Innisbrook. Brigitte was deeply social and treasured time spent with her friends, especially while hosting lively gatherings at their condominium in Innisbrook. She was always ready to offer a glass of wine to neighbors who stopped by to chat while she sat on her patio.

Brigitte was also an enthusiastic Canasta player and enjoyed card games with friends until the very end of her life.

Above all, Brigitte will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of people, and the joy she brought into every room she entered.

Brigitte is survived by her two children, Andreas and Sabine, and her Grandchildren Isabel, Natalie and Andrew as well as many dear friends who will miss her deeply. She will always be in our hearts.
