Anna Lou Alexander, 97, passed away on December 15, 2025 in Overton, Nevada at her home. Anna was born on January 12, 1928 in Taylorsville, Illinois to Melvin Claude Beaty and Julie Ruth Hawkins. She married Donald “Wayne” Alexander on June 15, 1952 and they had two sons, Rick and Kevin.
Anna was a Christlike woman. She loved everyone and was loved by all. She was a member of the First Christian Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher and the Women’s Committee and organized many mother-daughter banquets. She and Wayne loved to travel on many real estate trips. She enjoyed decorating and working with flowers and being in the yard. She was known for dressing to the nines. Anna worked as a cosmetologist for many years at the John Howard Salon in Taylorsville. She and her family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1964 where she continued cosmetology, and worked for a Craft/Quilting Store, the Las Vegas Convention Authority, and later at Dillard’s.
Anna’s family was her greatest treasure. She loved her boys beyond measure and would make any sacrifice for them. When her grandkids came, that love grew even more. Nothing made her happier than caring for and serving her family who brought her so much joy.
Anna is survived by her grandchildren, Kristen (Ryan) Yardley, Trisha (Justin) Yardley, Brad (Summer) Alexander, Carly Alexander, and Reagen (Cade) Gardner; great-grandchildren, Taytum (Kolby) May, Fallon, Stihl, Josie, Addison, Jax, Case, Rick, Reggie, Clay, Grady, Brant, and Callan; daughter-in-law, Shirley Alexander; and her siblings; Sue Thomas and Larry (Diana) Beaty. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Alexander; her sons, Rick and Kevin Alexander; her parents; and her siblings, Rodell, George, Donald, Linda Lippincott, Betty Jones, and Barbra Prater.
