DYER CHAPEL-Anna "Ann" Faye Lafever Mahan, born on April 6, 1939, in Baxter, Tennessee, departed this life on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 86, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She leaves an enduring legacy of love and kindness, deeply cherished by her family and friends.
Anna dedicated a significant portion of her professional life to serving as a bank teller at First Tennessee Bank, which is now known as First Horizon, where she began her career in 1978 and retired in 2004. She proudly graduated from Baxter Seminary in 1957, reinforcing her commitment to education and personal development.
As a dedicated member of Nash Grove Baptist Church, Anna exemplified the values of faith and community. Her vivacious spirit was evident in her passions; she thoroughly enjoyed watching her grandchildren engage in various activities and spending treasured moments with her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Robert Dewey Mahan of Cookeville, whom she married on May 30, 1964. Anna is also survived by her two daughters, Karen Denise (Dominic) Burke of Hendersonville, NC, and Susan Renee (Mike) Hall of Cookeville. A proud grandmother, she is survived by her grandchildren, Maggie Ann Hall and Christopher Glenn Hall, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Columbus Lafever and Maggie Spears Lafever; her sisters, Cleo Herron, Betty Eller, Elva Jean Lafever, and her brothers, Lonnie Lafever and Harold Lafever.
A visitation will be held at Dyer Chapel, 798 S. Willow Ave. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 3, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Gary West will officiating. Burial will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Hall, Mike Hall, Randall Herron, Ethan Julian, Ernie Julian, and Dennis Taylor.
Anna Faye Mahan's life was a testament to love, dedication, and community. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
