Mack Allen Mahan Sr

Mack A. Mahan, at the age of 91 entered into eternal rest on March 13, 2026. His 6 week battle sadly began following hip surgery in early February.

He was born August 17, 1934, in Ider, Alabama to the former Bertha Smith and James Columbus Mahan, who preceded him in death, as well as his sisters Elora Ann Flanigan, Virginia L. Dean, brother James C Mahan, Jr, and nephew Michael D. Flanigan.

He graduated from Davis High School in Trenton GA. Family still lives there. He grew up there.

He was a long-time employee of W.L. Jackson Co. and in 1967 he started his own chain of health spas with several locations in the south. These were all very successful. He lived in Surfside Beach, SC in the mid 70s. Then returned to Chattanooga where he and his son Allen began a contracting, repair, and renovation business. He retired in the late 90s.

He was married to his soulmate for 63 years, Virginia (Jo) Mahan, preceded him in death. Mack is survived by his son, Allen Mahan (Ann), Evensville, TN, daughter, Lisa Mahan-Henry, Chattanooga, TN, 5 wonderful grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He loved and cherished so much in life. Spending wonderful times with family, the beach, watching sports, played golf, dancing, travel, and eating out every week--PLUS so much more! All with such an amazing since of humor! And he loved attending Cowboy Church, Rock Springs, GA.

He loved so many and will be remembered and deeply missed by all.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in the chapel of W. L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Homes, with Pastors Randy and Sandy Harden officiating. Interment will follow at Payne Cemetery in Trenton, Georgia. Family requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Cowboy Church, PO Box 456, Rock Springs, GA 30739.
