Johnny Murl Clark, Sr.

April 17, 1947 – March 15, 2026

Johnny Murl Clark, Sr., 78, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Johnny was born in Marietta, Georgia, to the late John and Gladys Clark. He moved to the Northwest Georgia area in 1975 and lived here the rest of his life. He worked as a mechanic at Covenant Transport before retiring, and he was of the Baptist faith. Johnny was known for his stubborn streak and his deep love for his family. He loved to fish and spend time with his "grandbabies", often at the same time. Life did not get any better than fishing with his grandkids. Johnny was a family man who would do anything for his loved ones. He enjoyed the breakfast dates, stopping by their work and spending time during their lunch breaks, and any other chance to visit with his family. Johnny cherished his family and enjoyed every moment with them. He was loved by all who knew him and will be genuinely missed.

Johnny is preceded in death by his dear wife, Carol Ann Clark, and his parents, John Buford and Gladys Mae Clark.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Vanessa Nelson, Johnny Clark, Jr., and Joseph Hunter Clark, all of Ringgold, Georgia; brothers, Kenneth Clark of Elijay, Georgia, Darell Clark, and Daniel Clark, both of Cohutta, Georgia; sister, Barbara Jean Dobbins of Chatsworth; grandbabies, Brianna, Britney, Gavin, Sebastian, Tori, and J.J.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join us in remembering and honoring Johnny on Thursday, March 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. at a graveside service at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, 724 Hogan Road, Rossville, Georgia. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate them.

An online guestbook can be found at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, is handling the funeral arrangements.
