Anna M. Bell

TOWN OF NEWPORT - Anna Marie Bell, passed away after a courageous battle on Friday, September 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
Anna was born on October 31,1957, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Arcuri) Callahan. She received her education from Poland Central School.
A devoted wife and mother, Anna prided herself on her family and her home. She spent her years raising her children and assisting in the family business, Bell Contracting. Anna enjoyed shopping for treasures at auctions, sitting on her front porch and traveling the back roads looking for good garage sales.
She is survived by her beloved husband, William H. Bell Sr.; her children, Frederick Mulligan, Jennie Sikora (Andrew), Dorothy Penge (Mark), Shawn Mulligan, Anna Mulligan, William Bell (Becky), Joseph Bell, Mary Bell, and James Bell; siblings, Ferdinand Callahan (Audrey), Michael Callahan and Mary Metzgier (John); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lastly, her treasured fur babies, Stormy, Pumpkin and Missy.
Anna is preceded in death by her mother and father, Joseph and Jennie Callahan; brothers, Joseph Callahan, Louis Callahan and David Tefler; mother-in-law, Ethel Bell; and a brother-in-law, David Bell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/ Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay Street, Utica on Thursday, September 25 at 12:00pm with Rev. Jim Cesta, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Newport. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport.
