Anna Maria Bergara died peacefully at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 28, 2018 at the age of 64 after a 2 year battle with cancer.
Anna is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lee H. Bergara; daughters, Heather Dawn Bergara, Lea Ann Bergara (David); grandchildren, Richard, Anthony, Robert, Rylee, Christian, Breanna and great-granddaughter, Loretta; siblings, Oscar Flores (Margaret Rose), Richard Flores (Mary "Nena"), Toni Guzman (Sergio), Alma Gomez (Roy), Rick Benavides Jr., Joe Ayala Jr. and Laurel Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Petra and Jesus Trevino; son, Roy Bergara; brothers, Mario Flores, Ruben Flores and Robert Flores.
Anna was born on December 20, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas but moved to Corpus Christi as an infant. She was a graduate of Ray High School (Class of '72) and attended Del Mar College.
Anna worked in the medical field most of her life. Besides the love for her children and grandchildren, Anna loved to travel. She especially enjoyed going to casinos and was fortunate to have visited 37 states.
Anna's wish was for her body to be cremated and her ashes taken home until the time came that she could be laid to rest alongside her husband.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Funeraria Del Angel Memorial Holly, 3442 Holly Road, Corpus Christi from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Memorial Service to begin at 6:30 pm that same evening.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anna's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or you favorite charity.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Dr. Antonio Santillan-Gomez (Texas Oncology), Methodist Hospital (Women's Specialty Unit San Antonio) and New Century Hospice (Corpus Christi) for the care and dedication they gave Anna.
