Anna R. (Wynegar) Billet, 86, of York, passed away peacefully at WellSpan York Hospital on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 12:02 pm. She was the former wife and, most importantly, best friend of Carl Billet, Sr., of York, whom she married on July 2, 1962.
Anna was born in York on March 6, 1938, to the late Mack Ree, Sr., and Dorothy Alverta (Snyder) Wynegar. She worked for several local businesses, retiring from AMP, where she was employed as a machine operator. In her earlier years, she loved traveling to the beach in Wildwood, NJ. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the casino, sitting on her bench swing outside her home, and, most of all, cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis E. Barley and his wife, Justine, Steve E. Barley and his wife, Linda, and Carl "Skip" E. Billet, Jr. and his wife, Amy, all of York. She also leaves her daughter, Dot A. Blevins, and her companion, Mike Sersen, of York New Salem. Anna will be deeply missed by her 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as her daughter-in-law, Kim Barley. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold D. Wynegar and Mack R. Wynegar, Jr., and her son, Timothy A. Barley.
A viewing for Anna will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, with Pastor Patti Bream of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow the service at Yoe Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
