Anna “Nanie” Marie Bowden, 82 of Beckley, West Virginia passed away on March 21st, 2023 peacefully in her sleep.
She is survived by her sisters Nora Frazier, Georgia Oscar, Glena Scholl, and Diana Ames. As well as her children Terry Toney, David Alawine, Sheila Hutchens and her stepchildren Deborah Hahn and Tina Bowden-Fassino. Additionally, 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and many others that she considered her extended family as well as many friends.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Glenis “Sonny” Ames Jr, Weldon Ames and William Ames, as well as her children Donna Smith, Jackie Toney, Blaine Toney and wife Janice, daughter in law Sada Alawine and step-children, Alton Alawine and Russell Alawine in addition to, her grandchildren Luke Toney, Raymond Messenger and Sabrina Messenger.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday March 26th, 2023 at Calfee Funeral Home, 800 S. Oakwood Ave. Beckley with Pastor Paul Chapman officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery, Sandstone, WV.
