Our beautiful mother, Anna Rolean, was born in Bountiful, Utah on August 15, 1937, to Clyde Roland and Orlean Harriet Gustafson. She was released from this life on September 12, 2025, at age 88, in Springville, Utah.

Mom was born during the Great Depression, two years after her family started a cooperative Mormon fundamentalist group. Her life was guided by The Order values of hard work, poverty, and giving your all to the building up of the Kingdom of God upon the earth.

When she was 19, she honored her mother's dying wish and entered into a spiritual marriage with the leader of The Order, John Ortell Kingston, her uncle. Because this marriage was never consummated, her grandma, Vesta Kingston, helped her obtain a spiritual annulment from him.

She attended beauty school with her sister Ilona. They were modeling hair color when she met Jim Cadman. She was a petite green-eyed beauty in a black, strapless dress with silver hair, and he was tall, dark, and handsome. They married three months later on July 5, 1958. They had five little girls before their marriage ended.

Mom returned to The Order with her five daughters. She entered into a spiritual marriage with Deward John Peterson on April 5, 1971, and they had four more children. He adored Mom and wrote her a love note every day.

Mom worked hard for The Order at many of their businesses and was a good Order member despite how she was treated by the leadership. She finally left The Order for good in her 85th year of life, after they had taken everything from her.

Mom was Tinkerbell and Pollyanna rolled into one. She was a positive person who looked for the bright side, with a bit of sass and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to laugh and laughed often. She loved the beauty of nature, especially the wind and the rain. She would go out in the rain, raise her arms to the sky, take a deep breath, and say, "Don't you just love that smell?"

Mom loved her children and grandchildren. She loved babies and they loved her. She knew just the right bounce and hush sounds to quiet a crying baby. She loved all people no matter their background, and was kind to a fault. She shared everything she had with those around her.

Mom will be missed by her children: Christy (Ronald), Cindy, Catherine (Blaine), Elaine (Dan), Deward Robert (Marlo), Kim (Mark), Jill (Dan), Jacob (Brandi); her siblings: Mary, Ruth, John, Angela, Ilona, Ellery, and Shauna; 42 grandchildren, and 58 great-grandchildren. She was greeted in heaven by her parents and siblings: Elaine, Valanne, Elden, Jeanette, Coreen, and Luana; husband, Deward; her daughter, Caryn; and her grandchildren: April, Caleb, and Ben.

Mom left behind broken hearts and a legacy of love and kindness.

While some may think this obituary tells too much, Mom, tired of secrets, longed for her truth to be told.
