Anna Davidson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All Faiths Cremation Service, LLC - West New York from Sep. 19 to Sep. 23, 2025.
Anna Antonia Davidson (nee Lamenza) passed away on September 19, 2025, after a brief illness. Anna was born in New York City on December 4, 1928, to Vincent and Antonia Lamenza. The youngest of four siblings, she grew up on Mulberry Street in the heart of Little Italy and attended St. Patrick's Old Cathedral School. She spoke Italian before she spoke English. Anna loved singing, dancing, and musical theatre which she practiced often, with her sisters, through the Police Athletic League. Later in life, she took adult ballet classes. When she started a family, she moved to Brooklyn, which she thought was the "country"-until she moved to New Jersey. She was incredibly close to her siblings, Vinnie, Jo and Frankie, and we take comfort that she's been reunited with them, and her beloved son, Alex, in heaven.

Mom, Nonna, Aunt Annie-would call you on your birthday and sing to you over the phone. She had the special gift of being able to pick out the perfect greeting card to celebrate you. She could wiggle her ears (she was proud of this) and bring everyone to a stop when she whistled (the old-fashioned way, by sticking two fingers in your mouth). She could make anyone laugh and made everyone she was with feel special. We should all take a leaf from Anna's book; hers was a life of simple pleasures. Good food, good music, good conversation and company. She loved Judy Garland, flowers (especially red roses and gardenias), sfogliatelle and coffee, but more than anything, she loved her family.

She is survived by her beloved son Nick and his wife, Rose, daughter, Natalie and her husband Radzee, Alex's wife, her daughter-in-law, Cindy, grandchildren Nick Jr., Jesse, Matthew, Michael, Crysta, Emma, Asim (Frankie), Marianna and Vincent, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We miss her but know that she is always with us and look to the day when we will see her again in God's presence.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on October 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 333 State Route 18, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in Jamesburg.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Old Bridge.
