Anna Marie Dunn

Anna Marie Dunn was born on June 8, 1936 in Quincy, CA and passed away at home in Bella Vista, CA on January 22, 2026 at the age of 89 surrounded by family.

One of her famous things to say was that she was born in a barn.. yes it's true.. it was a barn, but converted into a house! Lol

She loved telling people how she got her name (which always tickled her) of how her father adored his mother-in-law and insisted her mother name her after her Grandmother, Anna Marie (Chase) Farrell, Woods.

Her parents relocated many times throughout her life as her father and uncle were building Movie theaters.

She attended Healdsburg High School through her Junior year and in her Senior year attended Taccoa Falls High School in Georgia where she graduated. In 2018 she went back and visited Taccoa Falls.

She worked for Sees Candies, the San Francisco Examiner (where she met her husband), the Mendocino County Clerk Recorders Office, Sharpe's Army Depot, and managed several Six Pence Inns and multiple storage facilities throughout California, Oregon and Washington. During her later years she worked for the State of California until she retired and was a part time teacher's assistant for Shasta College.

She was an avid Cribbage and Pinochle Player and loved traveling and making friends wherever she went.

Two of her favorite adventures were her Cribbage Cruise to Belize and when she traveled cross country thru 37 states in 50 days. She visited memorial sites of her ancestors and discovered a grandfather who served in the War of 1812 buried in Maine. She loved meeting new distant cousins in Florida, Maine and Idaho. She spoke often of special family gatherings of Farrell cousins and the Farrell/Chase family reunions.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lorita (Farrell) Schelling, her husband, Thomas Dunn, children Timothy Bergman and Linda Dunn, her brother Frederick Schelling, Jr. and three grandchildren Rebbecca, Cheryl and Ashley.

She is survived by her children Alice Langton-Sloan, Wayne Bergman, and Deanna Rodrick-Crosby, and stepdaughters Pamela Jones and Kelli Summers. 12 Grandchildren Nate and Eric, Melissa; Michael, Jeremy and Amy, Danielle, Robert, and Ceci, Kathrynne and Daniel, and 5 step grandchildren Karissa, Justin, Hillary, Lindsay and Corrina. Extended family member, nighttime cribbage opponent and caregiver, Dan Sliger.

28 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren and 4 step great, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will take place at the Millville Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery at 10:00 am in Millville, CA followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am at the Elks Lodge in Redding, CA on June 6, 2026.
