Anna Foster Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Funeral & Cremation - Broadway on Dec. 15, 2025.
Anna Ruth Foster (Irwin), affectionately known as GrandAnna by all who loved her, went to be with her Lord on December 15, 2025. GrandAnna was a lifelong member of Gillespie Avenue Baptist Church. She came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 10 and, until her waning years, remained a faithful servant of the Lord. GrandAnna possessed the gifts of service and hospitality. She and Papaw Tom willingly served all who were in need-family, friends, and strangers alike. Their door was always open, especially at mealtimes. GrandAnna will be greatly missed, but we rejoice knowing that she is with Jesus in glory. The family would like to extend special thanks to caregivers Sara Foster and Donna Hansard, as well as family friend Jesse "Snake" Blair, for their love and support. The family also expresses heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and Sacred Ground Hospice House for their compassionate care. She was preceded in death by husband, Tom Foster; parents, Nank and Ruth Irwin; brothers, Bob Irwin, Bill Irwin, and David Irwin. She is survived by children, Sharon Rederick, Trish Buchanan (Dick), David Foster (Debbie), and Chris Foster (Melissa); sister, Carolyn Easterly; grandchildren, Morgan Miller (Jon), Mitchell Buchanan (Brynn), Daniel Foster (Sara), Rebekah Wesley (Haden), and Brooke Todd (Dylan); great grandchildren, Nolan, Julianne, Carson, and Holden Miller, Mayzie, Jacoby, Clarke, and Tekoa Buchanan, Henry Foster, and Stetson Todd; and great grand dog, Evie. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, December 19, 2025, at Rose Funeral & Cremation Broadway. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Wayne Hubbs and Rev. Allen Dotson officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 am Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Sutherland Avenue for an 11:00 am interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gillespie Avenue Baptist Church (1701 Gillespie Ave. Knoxville, TN 37917).
