Anna M. George

Anna M. (Kachmar) George, 99, of West Chester, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Merrill Gardens, West Chester.

Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Anna was the daughter of the late Michael and Eva (Belas) Kachmar. She was the wife of the late David George, who passed away in 2006.

Ann was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Phoenixville. She was also a member of VFW Post 845, Downingtown. Anna loved polkas, often going to polka dances with her husband. She also enjoyed sewing, and making curtains for her family members. She was a tremendously loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. Anna was previously employed by Pepperidge Farm, Downingtown, where she was employed as a supervisor in the bakery department. Anna also enjoyed going on walks, especially at the Exton Mall.

Anna is survived by her children: Kenneth D. George (Helen) of Douglasville, PA, Richard George (Heidi) of Ellijay, GA, Ketih George (Edie) of Exton, PA, Denise Souden (Steve) of Coatesville, PA; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Patti George.

In addition to her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by her children: David L. George and Gary George; siblings: Michael, Sam, Steve, Mary, and Kay.

A viewing will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 5-7 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home: 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335. A second viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 10:15-11 AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church: 301 Fairview St, Phoenixville, PA 19460. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM at the church. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church Cemetery, Phoenixville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
