Anna Gertz

Anna S. Gertz passed away peacefully after 99 years on December 20th, 2024 in her home in San Rafael, California. Anna was born in the Strawberry Mansion district of Philadelphia on July 26, 1925; daughter to Solomon and Fannie Siegel of Philadelphia. She met her late husband Irving Gertz at the age of 16 on a train from Philadelphia to Atlantic City. Anna lived in Philadelphia for most of her life before moving to Boca Raton, Florida, in 1991. To be closer to family, she moved to California in 2019. Anna was sister to Max, Rose, Eda and Ida who predeceased her. Her loving family includes her sons Stephen and Barry, daughters-in-law Valorie and Laura, granddaughters Jessie and Marlo, and her great grandchildren Max, Lucca, Jackson and Sofia. A funeral service will be held at the Beth Israel Memorial Chapel in Delray Beach, Florida on Monday, January 6th at 8:30 AM. Following the chapel service, she will be interred at 10:30 AM alongside her beloved husband at the South Florida National Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
