Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home & Crematory - Boynton BeachFaye Adeline Monroe, 85, of Delray Beach, passed away on February 12, 2026. She was born February 9, 1941, in Alva, Harlan County, Kentucky, to Claude and Rachel Ryan nee Daniels.
Faye married David Miller Monroe on December 30, 1983. He preceded her in death, along with her parents, Rachel and Claude Ryan, Sr.; her brother, John Ryan Sr.; and niece, Robin Ryan.
She is survived by her brother, Claude (Jody) Ryan Jr.; her nephew, John (Jamie) Ryan, Jr.; her niece, Rachelle (Fred) Vickers; seven grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and grandchildren, James Anderson and Shilo Monroe.
Faye was a very special kindergarten teacher whose career spanned from 1963 to 1991. She touched the lives of countless students, many of whom stayed in contact with her and continued to celebrate her more than 50 years later. She was known for her kindness, warmth, and dedication to children and families.
She cherished her family beyond measure and maintained many lifelong friendships. Faye loved deeply and was loved by all who knew her. Her presence, gentle spirit, and caring heart will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 p.m. at SCOBEE-COMBS-BOWDEN FUNERAL HOME, 599 N.E. 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to two of Faye’s favorite charities: Alzheimer’s Association or Shriners Hospital for Children.
