Anna Mae “Sissy” Hudson, of Newtown Square, PA, sadly passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Margaret (née O’Rourke) Piacine.
A proud graduate of Little Flower High School, Sissy furthered her education by obtaining a nursing degree from the esteemed Misericordia University Nursing Program. She dedicated her career to the nursing profession, serving as a Registered Nurse for many years, with her final tenure at Fair Acres in Media, Pennsylvania. Her commitment to healthcare and compassion for her patients have left a lasting impact on many lives.
Sissy was an enthusiastic member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary of Pennsylvania, reflecting her strong sense of community and service. She was known for her altruism, taking great joy in couponing to collect food for various charities, reflecting her selfless nature and desire to give back.
Dining out with family and friends brought her immense joy, as these moments allowed her to connect and share stories over a meal. She loved going to the movies and eagerly awaited the announcement of Oscar nominations each year.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sissy took great pride in her role as a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews, fostering relationships that were filled with love and support. Her love for family was evident in every gathering, where her laughter and warmth filled the room.
Sissy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Hudson; the loving mother of Daniel J. Hudson (Colleen) and Joanne M. Hudson. She is also survived by her many cherished nieces and nephews and is predeceased by her sisters, Kathleen Phelan and Margaret “Dolly” Lisbon.
A Viewing will be held in her honor on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Funeral Mass commencing at 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
