Emma Hudson Obituary
Emma dedicated many years of service to the Syracuse City School District before retiring. She was known for her strength, devotion to family, and quiet resilience, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Vernon W. Griffin, Sr.
Emma leaves to cherish her memory her one and only granddaughter, Natosha Griffin of Syracuse; three grandsons, Vernon W. Griffin, Jr., Wendell Griffin, and Kareeh Griffin; her sisters, Lisa Diane Hudson Stephens of Syracuse, Sally Pompey and Carolyn Benefield of Deerfield Beach, Florida; and her brother, Elmo Bernard Hudson of West Palm Beach, Florida. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Emma Pearl Hudson will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

When i first started doing my clinicals i was scared. When we got on the floor Emma greeted us and when we had nothing to do she would tell us about herself and asl us how school was and a ton of questions. my second day she started to feel like family to me and she was always so kind and generous. The last day i seen her she was in bed and i went and said hi to her and i told her how much i miss her and that i love her and she told me she loved me.

I knew Emma because my class and I use to help take care of her. She had the sweetest smile and the biggest heart. She always cared no matter the circumstances. Nothing was little to her. She´d talk to us about sports, school, home life you name it and she cared. She cared so deeply about everyone and for that I will forever be grateful to have known her. To me and a lot of my classmates she was our family. She always made us feel welcome and special and her life will always be a memory in my mind.

I worked with Emma at Nottingham HS. It was truly a joy to work with this extraordinary lady; Emma was in a class by herself and was beloved by all the staff and students. I am so sorry I cannot pay my respects to her family in person; my deepest condolences to you.
