Mrs. Anna Kapczak of Glen Spey, NY, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at her home. She was 89.

She was born December 18, 1936 in Korchmine, Ukraine, the daughter of the late Theodore Samilo and the late Olga Bardega Samilo.

Anna was a proud Ukrainian immigrant. She married her loving husband, John Kapczak, on May 8, 1955 in Hempstead, Long Island, and they spent the next 57 years creating a beautiful life together until his passing in 2012.

Anna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She loved the peacefulness of her home in Glen Spey and found great joy in baking for those she loved. Anna treasured time spent with her family, and she and her husband John especially loved dancing together. Their love and companionship were an inspiration to those around them.

Surviving are: her three beloved daughters, Annie Caputo and her husband Paul, Orysia Lyons and her husband Doug, Kathryn Penafiel and her husband Pat; two brothers, John Samilo and Mike Samilo and his wife Marjorie; her loving grandchildren; Eric, Amanda, Nicholas, Christina, John, Kelly, Samantha, Emily, Jonathan and Luke; great granddaughters, Harper and Felicity. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Steven Kapczak.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 with a 9:45am prayer at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy Mass at 11:00am in St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 329 High Road, Glen Spey, NY 12737 with Rev. Mykhaylo Fedorak officiating.

Burial will be at Glen Spey Cemetery, Glen Spey, NY.
