Anna Marie Kuka went home to be with Jesus on February 22, 2023 after a 14 year battle with Alzheimers and Dementia.
Anna was born on December 14, 1955 in Santa Monica, CA to Gerald Parrott and Willa Visser. She graduated Mobile County High School in Grand Bay, Alabama and went on to graduate from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL with a degree in Elementary Education.
Anna married her devoted husband Rick on January 10, 1976 in Grand Bay, Alabama.
Anna devoted her life to teaching, both at home and in school serving as an elementary teacher, special education teacher and teacher for continuing education for adults.
She was an inspiration to both young and old alike and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed it.
Throughout her adult life, Anna spent her time with family but also in the service of the Lord, going on mission trips around the world and doing what she loved the most, teaching subjects from English to Bible Classes and everything in between.
Her smile lit up any room that she entered, and one could never leave her presence without feeling better. She created light and joy wherever she went.
As a passionate lover of God, we know that at this moment she is dancing in heaven and singing with the heavenly hosts, unbroken and unchained from her earthly body. Her favorite song, I Can Only Imagine was playing as she passed into His presence, and He welcomed her with open arms.
She will be missed, but we know that death holds no victory over her, as she will be remembered and held sacred in the hearts and minds of all those that she touched throughout her life. She was an amazing woman of God, an unmatched wife and a mom without equal.
We await the day that we shall once again be reunited with her, knowing that she will have prepared a place for us all in the presence of the Lord.
Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Anna is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Rick; her mother, Willa; her children, Jennifer (Barry), Melissa (Michael), Matthew and her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service in honor of Anna's life will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Anna's longtime church home, Rocky Bayou Baptist Church, 2401 N. Partin Dr, Niceville, FL. Visitation will be at 1 PM followed by A Celebration of Life service at 2 PM. Fellowship to follow after.
