Anna Mae Brower, age 86, formerly of Grundy Center, passed away on February 22, 2025, in Hiawatha, Iowa while under the care of Unity Point Hospice. She was born on September 22, 1938, and spent much of her life in the community of Grundy Center, Iowa.
Anna Mae had a fulfilling career, dedicating many years to Grundy Foods. Following her time there, she utilized her nurturing spirit to provide childcare in her home, making a lasting impact on the lives of many children and their families. Additionally, she worked at Grundy Care Center until her retirement, showcasing her commitment to serving those in need with compassion and dedication.
In 2021, she moved to Hiawatha, Iowa, to live with her beloved niece, embracing a new chapter in her life surrounded by family.
Anna Mae is survived by many nieces and nephews who deeply cherished their time with her and will remember her warmth and kindness. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Anna Brower; her sisters, Grace Meents, Henrietta Smeins, and Caroline Fuls; her brother, John K. Brower; and her half-siblings, Bill Wilson and Marie Wilson Diehl.
Anna Mae Brower will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to family and community, her caring nature, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will endure in the hearts of many.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
