Anna (Albertelli) Mari, 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Shrewsbury Rehabilitation & Nursing at Southgate in Shrewsbury. She is survived and greatly missed by her loving daughter Antonella “Ann” Army of Millbury; two grandchildren Partick Army and his wife Gina of Webster, and Tiana Army of Millbury; two great-grandchildren Luca and Giovanna Army; and son-in-law Timothy Army. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years Luigi Mari in 2017; and her siblings Franco, Pierino, Alberto, Maria, Luisa, and Tina.
Anna was born on May 7, 1925 in Piacenza, Italy, daughter of the late Hercules and Josephina (Boveri) Albertelli. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. She was proud to have celebrated her 100th birthday last may with her family and friends. She loved her family very much. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking homemade Italian favorites. In the summer she loved to plant flowers in her yard, and she was always taking care of her many house plants. She was a talented seamstress and loved to knit and sew. Her daughter fondly remembers all the homemade clothes she made for her Barbie dolls. Anna will be greatly missed.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10:00am – 11:00am at St. Anne’s Parish, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Please go directly to church. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00am in the church. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel is honored to assist the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011.
