Anna Mae Mason 97 of Bainbridge passed from this life Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Greenfield Skilled Nursing. She was born Wednesday, September 22, 1926 in South Salem, Ohio to the late Hollie and Florence (Kerr) Knapp. On September 22, 1946 she married Dale L. “Shorty” Mason who passed away Monday, August 11, 1997.
Anna Mae is survived by a son Dale Mason, Jr. of Florida; daughter Rhonda (Bruce) Purdum of Bainbridge; 6 grandchildren Derrick (Karen) Mason, Jessica Oreste, Jeremy Mason, Mason (Karen) Purdum, Cassie (Clint) Williamson and Leslie (Tim) Steger; 10 great grandchildren and two sisters Bonnie Jo McClain and Cheryl Larson both of Florida.
In addition to her parents Anna Mae was preceded in death by children Bennie Mason and Roxann McNaughton; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Anna Mae was a 1944 graduate of Bainbridge High School following graduation she worked as a typist and a student telegrapher for the DT&I Railroad.
Anna Mae was a kind hearted person. Always willing to help a friend in need. She loved spending time with her family and traveling with Shorty.
A special thanks to her caregivers at Greenfield Skilled Nursing for the care and support they gave her during the time she was there and to her hospice nurse and special friend, Jamie.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be given to the Bainbridge United Methodist Church PO Box 528 Bainbridge, OH 45612.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME of Bainbridge with Rev. Dane Knapp officiating. Following the service Anna Mae will be laid to rest beside Shorty in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 am until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
