Anna Maxine (Johns) Johnson, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 23, 2026, at the age of 88.
Maxine was born on August 1, 1937, in Creal Springs, Illinois. In her lifetime, she was defined by her family devotion, her friends, and her talent for cooking. She made the most delicious meals, and the dinner table was always a place of laughter and love. She enjoyed baking pies and cookies; the latter of which were a favorite of her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and playing bingo. When she won, she would declare, "this is my stash money". Maxine's amusing and joyful spirit was evident to all who knew her.
She was also a hardworking homemaker - she kept a pristine house and always looked her best. She will be remembered by her warrior spirit, her heart of gold, and her passion for her family.
She is predeceased by parents, Noah and Nettie Johns, as well as Faye and Bob Billingsley, LorLou and Marvin Borum, Christine and Moe, Maye and Leon Henderson, Jerry and Judy Johns, and Junior and Maye Johns.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Lowell Bryan Johnson, her children, Melita Johnson, Cheryl Nowak, and Darren (Maggie) Johnson, her grandchildren, Michael Nowak, Caitlin Basanta, Nicole Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Maria Lopez, and Tommy Lopez, and her great grandchild, Angel Basanta.
Services will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Maxine's honor.
