Mrs. Anna Kathryn McKay

Mrs. Anna Kathryn (Miller) McKay, age 89, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life June 16, 1921, in Patriot, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence Napoleon & Jessie (Curlin) Miller, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana & was a 1938 graduate of Vevay High School. Anna Kathryn was united in marriage on April 15, 1939, in Vevay, Indiana, to Frank Wade McKay & to this union arrived a son & a daughter to bless their home. She was a former employee of the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana. Later, Anna Kathryn was employed as an electrical router for Reliance Electric in Madison, Indiana. During her years of service at Reliance Electric, she was promoted to an administration position & retired after 25 years of service. She was a former member of the old Braytown Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School. Anna & Frank became members of the First Christian Church in Madison, Indiana, where she was very active in the women's circle of the Church. Anna Kathryn will be remembered for her love of her beautiful flowers, ceramics & painting crafts. Anna was an excellent cook & enjoyed preparing wonderful meals for her family to enjoy. Anna Kathryn died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 8:01 am at her residence in Vevay, Indiana. Anna Kathryn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Amy Konkle of Indianapolis, Indiana; her son: Clair Albert McKay of Vevay, Indiana; her granddaughters: Elizabeth Anne McKay, Cyndi Ann Speelman, Karin Lynn Konkle; her great-grandchildren: Sophia, Lucy, Isaac, Samuel, Ezra & Jonas; her brother: Leslie Clinton Miller of Anderson, Indiana; her nephew: David Miller; her nieces: Mary Ann Vernon & Donna Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence Napoleon & Jessie (Curlin) Miller; her husband: Frank Wade McKay died: 5/5/2010; her daughter-in-law: Frieda McKay; her infant great granddaughter: Rita Rose McKay. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 11:00 am, by Bro. Jerry McKay at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
