Anna Marie Muenster, a cherished matriarch, and beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 94 in
Allendale, New Jersey. Born on April 13, 1931, in
Manhattan, New York, Anna Marie was a woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family, her work, and her community.
Raised in Lodi and a resident of Clifton for over seven decades, Anna Marie's presence was a constant in the lives of those she touched. In recent years, she made her home in Allendale, where she continued to spread her warmth and kindness. Anna Marie's family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her sons, Eric Muenster (Maureen) and Mark Muenster (Beth), and her daughter, Monica May-Muenster (Daniel), will forever hold her in their hearts. Her brother, Anthony Capricuso, and sister, Louisa Faul, along with her eleven grandchildren, Ashley and Anthony Randazzo, Jason, Brian, Eric, Luke and Logan May, Sydney and Hayley Muenster and Collin and Brendan Muenster and six great-grandchildren, will miss her deeply. Anna Marie was predeceased by her brothers, John Capri, Carmine Capricuso, and Joseph Capricuso, but the bonds of family extend beyond life, and their reunion is a comforting thought to those she leaves behind.
Anna Marie's professional life was characterized by her meticulous nature and her dedication. Before her well-earned retirement, she served as a bookkeeper in the Billing department at Quest Diagnostics in East Rutherford. Her colleagues knew her as a friendly and reliable presence, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence. A faithful parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton, Anna Marie was an active member of the Rosary Society and the St. Paul Leisure Club. Her faith-filled life was an inspiration to many, and her commitment to her church community was unwavering. Anna Marie's love for baking was only matched by her enjoyment of playing cards. She was known for her delicious treats and her sharp card-playing skills, which brought joy and laughter to many gatherings.
Anna Marie's life was one of loving service and friendship. She never missed an opportunity to attend church, and her faith was evident in the way she lived her life every day. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving, friendly, and faith-filled woman whose impact on their lives cannot be overstated.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton. A Mass will be held Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Cassian R.C. Church, 187 Bellevue Avenue, Upper Montclair, NJ. Please meet at church. Private cremation to follow.
